Thrundak Skullsplitter, known variously as Skullsplitter or The Warlord of Galahir, was a particularly successful orc warlord, who operated around the outskirts of the Forest of Galahir and the Ardovikian plane preying on under defended villages of the Young Kingdoms.

Biography

About

His nickname of Skullsplitter was a orcish name, not in fact referring to a penchant for the splitting of skulls, a practice he no doubt followed, but rather his habit of identifying the most vital part of his opponent, and driving his point home with overwhelming force.

Thrundak was notable amongst his race, for having discovered the profitability of kidnapping and extortion, as well as the unorcish practice of leaving villages with at least some buildings standing, so they were still there to be raided next time, a habit that he struggled to impress upon his followers. The warlord was to finally meet his end after kidnapping a merchant from a village that was just unable to pay, his followers having carted away all the villages wealth along with the banker in question.

The band of adventurers recruited by the village broke into the dwarven mine where the orc had set up base, dispatched the warlord and made off with his loot. It was particularly noted by Thesilar the elf ranger, how far Kapoka the Gladewalker was able to spread the six foot orc's body.

Early Years

Little is known of Thrundak’s early life . It was certainly full of many battles and the orc was able to work his way up to become the leader of a sizeable band of nomadic orc warriors. Particularly notable battles include the battle of Nathan Peak and a encounter around the Silean waterway, that lead to the river being renamed The Red River.

It was while living this nomadic life, attacking villages and stripping them of their wealth, that Thrundak stumbled upon the long abandoned dwarf mines of Penn-Scarr. Thoroughly exploring the and securing the extensive tunnels, the warlord turned Penn-Scarr into a veritable fortress, the centre of his intended empire. From here, Skullsplitter lead his warriors on raids, at first burning and raising villages, before moving into sacking and stealing everything that wasn’t nailed down. He developed a particular taste for heading straight f]toward the most impressive house in any settlement and kidnapping whoever was found within. The unlucky occupant would then be ransomed back to the village for a large sum of gold, that is if Thrundak’s warriors had left them with any.

Skullsplitter’s luck took a took a turn for the worse after attacking the small and idiotic village of Sarennia. Following their established MO, Thrundak’s warriors looted the town and carried off a particularly fat merchant banker, Pietor Grube. Left with few able bodied men, no money to pay the ransom, and with little influence amongst the larger kingdoms of men, the villagers were at a loss. It was clear something had to be done, and so the villagers did the only thing left to them. They travelled fifty miles to a tavern known to be frequented by adventurers and mercenaries and made it very clear how much loot must be stashed in the warrenous tunnels of Penn-Scarr, and how they only wanted their bit and their banker back.

Motivated by such untrusted thoughts, Kapoka, a Gladewalker Druid, Hrrath Flamespitter, a salamander ex gladiator, Thesilar, and elf ranger and the dwarf warrior Guraf Dammerson, fought their way into Thrundak’s fortress. After freeing the imprisoned banker and working their way through a number of the orc’s followers in the process, the adventure ended with an encounter between the Warlord of Galahir and the stoic Druid. It was not an encounter that ended well for the orc, but it has been noted that, if Thrundak Skullsplitter had not been stopped there, he may well have become the next great orc warlord and rivalled even Gakamak himself.

Appearance

Thrundak Skullsplitter was a barbaric looking orc. his clothing was mostly made of raw animal skins, with a long striped cloak and, his most noticeable feature, the skin of a mawbeast worn over his head. Skullspitter went into battle armed with two mismatched axes.
