The Order of the Brothermark faction was born from the destruction of the Brotherhood and with parts of it subsequently merging with parts of the Basileans.

About

The Basileans looked to capatlise on the break-up of the Brotherhood, moving to establish authority over them.

Basilea financed the rebuilding of the former Brotherhood fortresses lost in the Edge of the Abyss and the flood, they also gave over land now known as the Brothermark.

Over half of the Order is comprised of Paladin chapters and garrisons of Men-at-Arms sent from the provinces of Nova Ardovakio and Solios.

Basilea for this imposed their standard military doctrine and structure on the order, so that most of the former Brotherhood knights have joined the ranks of the Paladins, or are segeants in the legions of Men-at-Arms.

Some Brotherhood traditions were allowed to persist, therefore the new Order is unique within the vast machine of the Basilean armed forces, but dont be in doubt, the Basliean Hegemony pull the stings.

Orders within the Brothermark

Two of the old Brotherhood orders persist, and those knights would rather fall in the attempt to fulfil an oath than live with the shame of breaking one.

From the hardships that have befallen the knights, comes rage and fury with many taking the ‘Oath of the Gauntlet’.

Villeins

These are the peasant class how work tirelessly for their knights toiling the land. They are rotated into service to be military trained infantry. Those with an aptitude and skill are selected to join the ranks of the Paladin Initiates, where they train to become fully fledged knights.

Indoctrinated with both the morals and values of Basilea and the history and traditions of the Brotherhood.

Men-at-Arms

The skilled infantry of the Brothermark. Initiates that fall short of the standard required to become full knights can still put their training to effective use, by joining the ranks of the Men-at-Arms.
