Perhaps the most worrying aspect for those in the south is that there are whispers Talannar has discovered something of incredible power. It isn’t clear if Talannar is protecting it for his own use or whether he’s trying to stop whatever he’s found from spreading southwards. There are countless rumours: another Abyss, a portal to the [[Glade of Ways|Ways]] and even the body of a [[Celestians|Celestian]]. Whatever it is, those who guard it are willing to die to keep its true identity a secret.

Talannar Icekin, also known as The Sliver Prince, is the leader of the Northern Alliance faction.

About

The girl was his pride and joy, and he cared not for its mixed parentage, an unspoken taboo in elven culture.

During the time of light, the mixing of human and elf was not unheard of. But after the events of the shattering of the Fenulian Mirror and the god war, that sort of thing was heavily discouraged. The elves believing intimacy between the two races could only cause disaster for their people.

Lord Valellion decreed that the child and mother be banished from the kingdom or face destruction, generously giving the mother and child seven days to leave Elvenholme forever. Talannar's brother Tyris found an awful and hypocritical truth about the "pure blood" elven line of Valellion. Which was relayed in the court with Lord Valellion and King Thominus Moonweaver in attendance.

House Valellion, even more then other elven house, derived much of their power from thier lineage. And with the news of their tainted blood, lost much influence in the elven court. Becoming a shell of its former self. Both brothers were quickly exiled from Elvenholme for what they had done. Never to return.

Following their expulsion, the brothers became bitter enemies, each blaming the other for their downfall. Time has not fully healed the scars between Tyris and Talannar and his mood at any given time is reflected by conflicting emotions of love, loyalty, betrayal and deep regret. The Bitter Lands seem aptly named, for they describe well the state of the elven lord that claims dominion over them.

There are sporadic stories of Talannar traveling to different parts of the world alone over the centuries, before he finally settled in the north. And it was there where he would begin to build his nation. It began with a few ogres. Purchasing thier aid with several precious objects, Talannar began building his first settlement. A safe haven from the harshness that was northern life. And from their, Talannar began to recruit. Calling out to the outcasts and hopefuls of the world to become part of his new nation. People he would eventually call his clansmen.

Prince Talannar Valellion exiled from the Kingdom of Elves, ventured out to the Winterlands, where with is great magic he created the beautiful City of Chill, with glittering ice towers that shoot skywards. Many who live just south of the Ice Mountains have flocked to his banner, intrigued by the strange rumours surround his rule. The Northern alliance of Elves, Dwarfs, Humans and Naiads was formed from the many races that flocked to him, this became known as the Northern Alliance. This new alliance could rival even the greatest powers in Pannithor.

Perhaps the most worrying aspect for those in the south is that there are whispers Talannar has discovered something of incredible power. It isn’t clear if Talannar is protecting it for his own use or whether he’s trying to stop whatever he’s found from spreading southwards. There are countless rumours: another Abyss, a portal to the Ways and even the body of a Celestian. Whatever it is, those who guard it are willing to die to keep its true identity a secret.

Biography

3852

Prince Talannar was in his throne room in Chill and summoned Gavin Stalspar after Gavin and his fellow Huscarls led a successful defence outside the walls of Chill. Prince Talannar wanted to question Gavin directly due to Gavin being subdued during their post battle reports. Gavin assured the Talannar of his dedication to the Northern Alliance and its cause, the Prince dismissed Gavin for the night after this reassurance was given.

A short while later, Gavin Stalspar killed the Varangur Gorram Shurad who was attempting to find the secret Prince Talannar was hiding. Prince Talannar arrived inside the seemingly empty room which the fight took place in with two guards and explained that he had set a trap as he knew there was a spy within Chill along with dismissing of anything mystical being hidden there. Gavin left the room to recover from the battle as the Prince thanked him.

Prince Talannar waited for his guard, Elbis to indicate that Gavin Stalspar had moved far enough away and began giving orders as four more guards entered the room. He ordered Elbis and Hadrill to stand guard, Oram to get two more Snow Trolls to replace the fallen Uthar and for Percy and Denny to check for any more Varangur inside Chill. As the guards left to follow the Prince's orders, he moved to the back wall and through magical means passed through it then down a spiral staircase down below.

Halpi's Rift

Prince Talannar led Chill's defence when it was put under siege by the Abyssal Dwarfs. On the 88th night of the siege, dthe nexus at Crag Hudd opened up and shone a beam into the sky which Prince Talannar could see from behind the walls of Chill. The Abyssal Dwarf forces retreated along with the Ratkin that followed them and faded into the night. A voice, presumingly Azuon, spoke to Talannar to advise him that something had called them and his work had only just begun.

A short while later, the Trident King Myrroq reached out telepathically to Prince Talannar for assistance in sealing the nexus rift that had opened up. Myrroq showed Prince Talannar the terror that the world now faced and the Prince realised that he had delayed in his response instead of acting when he saw the rift originally open up during the siege. A plan was formed with Myrroq and his Riverguard to combine forces and march towards the Halpi Mountains, however Talannar remained in Chill with a reduced force. The voice again returned, presumingly Azuon, and told Talannar that the opening of the Nexus had accelerated the "reawakening" which Talannar insisted that the world was not ready and that the Northern Alliance would not be able to protect them beyond the walls of Chill. The voice assured him that they would not need to and that by the time it was over, the whole world would cry out for the "Return".

The assistance of the Northern Alliance and it's allies led to the rift at Crag Hudd to be sealed and the the threat subsiding for now however Myrroq expected Talannar to provide assistance in guarding the new underwater rift that had opened in The Great Deep. When this assistance was not offered and provided, it built resentment between the two factions.

Shadowed Horizons

Prince Talannar called for urgent aid to defend Chill against the incoming Nightstalkers threat during the Shadowed Horizons event. Prince Talannar had ordered a series of trenches and spike-encrusted embankments dug around the city to bolster it defences.

Shortly after the successful defence, Orlaf Skull-Splitter requested from Talannar to retire as Orlaf felt that his age had caught up with him. Talannar granted this request, despite his reluctance and the great barbarian would retire from the front lines.
