Tyris, brother of Talannar, felt pity for his brothers situation regarding this half-elf child and set about researching old legal texts and histories. Uncovering an awful and hypocritical truth about the "pure blood" elven line of Valellion.
Biography
In historical texts buried deep in a dusty tome, the chronicles of the Valellion line recorded the illicit joining of Wystirith Valellion to a human male, thus polluting the bloodline with a secret kept suppressed for generations.
In court with Lord Valellion and King Thominus Moonweaver in attendance, Tyris decried the hypocrisy at the very heart of the household and in the stunned silence that echoed in the great hall, the Valellion bloodline’s assumed purity.
House Valellion, even more then other elven house, derived much of their power from their lineage. And with the news of their tainted blood, lost much influence in the elven court. Becoming a shell of its former self. Both brothers were quickly exiled from Elvenholme for what they had done. Never to return.
More than two millennia have passed since the exiled Tyris Valellion led his small band from the borders of Elvenholme and into the frozen inhospitality of the Bitter Lands. Rather than succumb to the unliveable conditions of that rain-frozen and ice-blasted place, Valellion’s people somehow thrived and carved out a kingdom that is of great concern to the wise heads of Elvenholme.
The Bitter Lands is home to the Ice Kindred.
Following their expulsion, the brothers became bitter enemies, each blaming the other for their downfall. Time has not fully healed the scars between Tyris and Talannar and his mood at any given time is reflected by conflicting emotions of love, loyalty, betrayal and deep regret. The Bitter Lands seem aptly named, for they describe well the state of the elven lord that claims dominion over them.
