Prince Talannar Valellion fathered a child. Not unusual for an elf of his age, except the mother was a human.

About

The girl was his pride and joy, and he cared not for its mixed parentage, an unspoken taboo in elven culture.

During the time of light, the mixing of human and elf was not unheard of. But after the events of the shattering of the Fenulian Mirror and the god war, that sort of thing was heavily discouraged. The elves believing intimacy between the two races could only cause disaster for their people.

Lord Valellion decreed that the child and mother be banished from the kingdom or face destruction, generously giving the mother and child seven days to leave Elvenholme forever.

Talannar's brother Tyris found an awful and hypocritical truth about the "pure blood" elven line of Valellion. Which was relayed in the court with Lord Valellion and King Thominus Moonweaver in attendance.

House Valellion, even more then other elven house, derived much of their power from thier lineage. And with the news of their tainted blood, lost much influence in the elven court. Becoming a shell of its former self. Both brothers were quickly exiled from Elvenholme for what they had done. Never to return.

Following their expulsion, the brothers became bitter enemies, each blaming the other for their downfall. Time has not fully healed the scars between Tyris and Talannar and his mood at any given time is reflected by conflicting emotions of love, loyalty, betrayal and deep regret. The Bitter Lands seem aptly named, for they describe well the state of the elven lord that claims dominion over them.

There are sporadic stories of Talannar traveling to different parts of the world alone over the centuries, before he finally settled in the north. And it was there where he would begin to build his nation.

It began with a few ogres. Purchasing thier aid with several precious objects, Talannar began building his first settlement. A safe haven from the harshness that was northern life. And from their, Talannar began to recruit. Calling out to the outcasts and hopefuls of the world to become part of his new nation. People he would eventually call his clansmen.

Prince Talannar Valellion exiled from the Kingdom of Elves, ventured out to the Winterlands, where with is great magic he created the beautiful City of Chill, with glittering ice towers that shoot skywards.

Many who live just south of the Ice Mountains have flocked to his banner, intrigued by the strange rumours surround his rule.

The Northern alliance of Elves, Dwarfs, Humans and Naiads was formed from the many races that flocked to him, this became known as the Northern Alliance.

This new alliance could rival even the greatest powers in Pannithor.

Perhaps the most worrying aspect for those in the south is that there are whispers Talannar has discovered something of incredible power. It isn’t clear if Talannar is protecting it for his own use or whether he’s trying to stop whatever he’s found from spreading southwards. There are countless rumours: another Abyss, a portal to the Ways and even the body of a Celestian or ancient god. Whatever it is, those who guard it are willing to die to keep its true identity a secret.
