Ba'el, also known as the Bane of the Mortal Kingdoms, Bringer of Woe Eater of Realms, King of Destruction, the Wicked One known as Ba’el has gone by many names in his long life. He is actually one of the Wicked ones and is the Wicked half of Valandor
Biography
Deamon who when appears in Pannithor takes the shape of the Manifestation of Ba’el
Valandor's Wicked One counterpart, Ba'el was one of the most feared leaders of the Abyssal forces in the God WarIt is said that he wiped entire civilisations out of existence and created rivers of blood and mountains of the dead from his unnumbered victims.
His name was feared wherever it was spoken. He was eventually brought down by Valandor, who bound him in an eternal prison beneath the last civilisation he erased, Du’lan Var.
Why Valandor didn't simply kill Ba'el and rid the world of a great evil is unclear, but it is rumoured that Valandor could no more kill Ba'el than he could kill himself, being as they are two halves of the same soul (whether Ba'el thinks the same way is a different matter, he wouldn't be the first half-god to slay his opposite number). Talk of this is heresy and punishable by death in Basilea, exile in Elvenholme.
Ba'el remains imprisoned to this day, but he has the power to manifest himself in the outside world in a similar way to how The Green Lady projects her avatars, so Pannithor still isn't entirely safe from him. Legend has it that if it was not for the Winter's War, Valandor would have returned to destroy Ba’el once he had righted the damage done by him.

The God War

Sometime during The God War, fellow Wicked One Akshun'arha assisted Ba'el in investigating the recent town raids by Voidwalkers. Akshun'arha, with the use of Necromancy, conjured up the ghosts of a recently slain town which had been destroyed by a recent raid and communicated with them.
This led Ba'el to the discovery of the raids being commited by elves and eventually the existance of the Twilight Kin. Stunned, Ba'el began further study into this as the Wicked Ones had drawn many followers however none so far had been Elven and sent spies to Elvenholme to gain more information about this. One of Ba'el's spies discovered the existance of the Drenarchi, an undercover group of Twilight Kindred who were schooled in infiltration and espionage, and arranged a message to Mikayel Faewyll to expose the group existance as Mikayel was currently in charge of dealing with the problem with the Twilight Kin for the Elves.
With this informantion Mikayel Faewyll would capture more Drenarchi resulting in information on the Twilight Kin and their stronghold inside the Mouth of Leith to be discovered by the Elves and Ba'el's spies within Elvenholme. Mikayel mounted an expedition to the Mouth of Leith with Ba'el's spies obtaining this information as well and moved to get ahead of Mikayel's forces. Ba'el agents managed to arrive before Mikayel and ,feigning friendship, provided a warning to Leithindyr and the rest of Twilight Kin. Some among the Twilight Kin wanted to stand and fight however Leithindyr managed to convince them to instead make it look like the Twilight Kin had been destroyed, with a tenth of the current Twilight Kin being killed to convince Mikayel Faewyll.
Now hidden away in the cavern's below the Mouth of Leith, the Twilight Kin expanded their relationship with Ba'el and the Wicked Ones. They began to provide their scouts and spies to help the Wicked Ones during The God War again the High Alliance of Humans, Dwarfs and Elves which also benefited the Twilight Kin as they would learn the art of terror from the hordes of the Wicked Ones.
Year 0

Near the end of The God War, Valandor the Great managed to seal Ba'el away in the Ruins of Du'lar Var, which was the remains of the last kingdom that Ba'el had destroyed.
Pre-3849

Around 3800 years later, Ba'el was finally released by Mortibris in the Ruins of Du'lar Var however was met in battle by The Spirit of Valandor in an attempt to stop his release. Despite this resistance, the Spirit of Valandor was defeated and Ba'el escaped to the surface with Mortibris.
Ba'el was bound to Mortibris for now and continued to help Mortibris with his goals.
3849
The Abyssal Crusade

Ba'el began gathering his Forces of the Abyss along with Mortibris and his Undead army in an attempt to open up additional portals to The Abyss
3854
Halpi's Rift

Ba'el alliance with the Twilight Kin and specifically Mikayel Faewyll ended when Halpi's Rift was closed, resulting in thousands of Twilight Kin being stranded on the edge of The Abyss.
This led to Mikayel coming up with a mysterious plan out of revenge and headed out after raising fresh forces from the Mouth of Leith.
