The God War begun when Oskan, Father of Lies tricked Calisor Fenulian into creating the Fenulian Mirror, which when broke split the Celestians into the Wicked Ones and Shining Ones.This led to The God War, Wicked Ones vs Shining Ones.
Origins
When Elianthora broke the mirror, the Celestians were also broken.Those that survived, found themselves divided into two lesser aspects, limited, petty and vengeful. One aspect was 'shining' while the other was 'wicked'. The shining side sprouted many ills through their strict morality while the wicked side became an 'anti-pantheon', relishing destruction and bending their talents to cruelty in all forms.
The two sides were opposed and immediately set upon each other, dragging the other races into wars which gripped the world and caused much knowledge to be lost. The Wicked Ones created many races to do their bidding, swelling the ranks of the Abyssal race.
After throwing the world into chaos, Oskan Father of Lies organized many of the Wicked Ones under his command and led them in forming a number of slave races to wage war upon the three great nations.
The War
The wicked ones Dark Kyron with Garkan the Black created Orcs and other Wicked Ones went about corrupting Elves and humans. Brave Kyron rescued the discarded souls of their experiments and formed them into The Herd and the creatures of the Trident Realms of Neritica.
When the Fenulian Mirror was shattered, the Celestian Karinna actually managed to prevent her being from splitting in two, protected as she was by her sacred grove. She found herself unstable and at risk of splitting if she left the grove. Fortunately she came across the Wicked half of the Celestian Liliana, (Dark Liliana) who's split into good and evil halves had been less than clean. Liliana was suffering, so Karinna bound her soul to her own, both to save Liliana and to stabilise her own being. This kept her being from separating, but she was not yet powerful enough to protect the natural world from the God War, and Liliana would not be truly at peace until she was whole again, so Karinna hunted down Liliana's Shining aspect and bound her to her soul as well. When this happened, Karinna and Liliana were reborn as The Green Lady, a powerful gestalt being who stands between between the forces of Good and Evil, preventing either from gaining dominance. She is a champion of the lesser races of Mantica, seeking to protect them and the world they inhabit from the wars between good and evil.
Oskan brought some of elves through the portal and with the breaking of the Fenulian Mirror fed off of the minds of the sacrificed and what emerged were the Nightstalkers.
The God War raged for 170 years with Celestians on both sides being slain alongside their various allies. Eventually this culminated in a battle between two armies numbering in the hundreds of thousands.
It was only when Domivar the Unyielding, song of Mescator, God of Justice, and Laria, High Consul of Primovantor, fought Oskan, now known as the Father of Lies, that the wars ended. Taking the form of his father, Domivar soared into the sky and wrestled with Oskan, finally seizing Oskan's Black Axe, a terrible weapon forged from the icy cold between the stars.
During the course of the battle Oskan faced off against Domivar the Unyielding and Laria, High Consul of Primovantor. As Oskan weakened, he fled into the sky, pursued by Domivar.
Domivar slew Oskan, seizing from him his Black Axe. Taking the weapon, Domivar struck the ground and tore a great rent into the land. Into this Abyss were cast the majority of the evil gods where they were imprisoned. This great effort used up Domivar's spark of divine power and, returning to his mortal form, he died.
Unfortunately, the wicked ones eventually transformed it into HELL, complete with 9 circles for them and their minions - the Abyss.
