John Mussing lives in the The Shires and his wife, Mary Mussing, was a frequent user of the machines created by Taran Bligh. Unfortunately, Taran's machines malfunctioned twice with the first time nearly blinding Mary and the second causing Mary to early run over by Taran's steam powered plough.

These mishaps eventuallly led John to complain to the council and get Taran's machines locked up in Councillor Joller shed so they could no longer be used.
