Taran Bligh is a Halfling from The Shires who was first seen in Kings of War Champions.

Taran Bligh was an inventor living in The Shires when he came upon an idea to create his own version of an Iron Beast, called the Iron Behemoth, after seeing an broken down Iron Beast in person. A few days after beginning the project, his automatic carrot picker malfunctioned and almost blinded Mary Mussing as described by her husband, John Mussing.
Reports continued to be heard about Goblins inside The Shires, specifically in the Forest of Kharne, however Taran's project continued to be delayed due to their other inventions malfunctioning such as their steam powered plough nearly taking out Mary Mussing. These malfunctions eventually lead to John Mussing complaining to the local village council which resulted in Taran's inventions (Automatic Carrot Picker, Steam-powered Plough, Seed Shooter and the Grain Crusher) being locked up in Councillor Joller's barn however they did not find the Iron Behemoth that Taran continued to work on in secret.
Taran continued to hear the increasing reports of Goblins inside The Shires, this time around The Bogs. A day later, reports came in that the Goblins were moving towards Taran's village and they had sent a message to Ferchester for help however the local council had doubts that the milita forces will arrive in time. Taran changed the design of the Iron Behemoth and merged it with an abandoned harvester which created the Iron Crusher.
The Goblins attacked the village at night while Taran was working on the Iron Crusher. Taran started up the machine and managed to defeat the attacking Goblins, driving them away. Taran's Iron Crusher was regarded a success and started to prepare for the next battle.
