Leon Hardaxe was a member of the Free Dwarfs who fought in the War of the Quartz Septure

Biography

The War of the Quartz Sceptre

main article: The War of the Quartz Sceptre

Leon opted to occupy the Pass of the Flaming Gates to slow down the main Abyssal Dwarf force army, led by Overking Zerkziz, reaching the Lost Hold. He was. by chance, passing by with a small force of Dwarfs marching to meet up with the Dwarf warhost massing at nearby Cwl Gen. It happens he was near the pass when word of the proximity of the army arrived.

Leon opted to occupy the pass and hold it against the advancing tide of foes, reasoning that the longer he holds up the enemy, the more time the warhost of Cwl Gen will have to prepare its defence against the invaders called the Battle of the Flaming Gates

He and his troops expect this to be their final battle, but pray to their gods that their heroic deeds will be sung about at feasting halls for centuries to come.

On the day of the battle Leon, upon preparing for the battle, took a long swig of Old Oxbiter from his ale flagon. He raised the tankard, shouting to his troops. “To those about to die.. We salute you!”. Throwing aside their empty tankards, the Dwarfs did an abrupt about face, pulled down their breeches and bared their buttocks to the advancing enemy.

They would all go down fighting to the last Dwarf

Death

Leon died along with this unit, Leon Hardaxe’s Bodyguard, at the Battle of the Flaming Gates.
