Mhorgoth, also known as Mhorgoth the Faceless, is arguably the most powerful Necromancer ever to blight the world.

About

Early Years

Born in 2315, Mhorgoth was a human and had a talent in the sorcerous arts, even as a child. After tragedy after tragedy including the death of his parents and sister, the Elves took Mhorgoth in and schooled him in arcane lore. He was tutored by Mage-tutor Callinah and studied in Elvenholme for years with Elven mages hoping to channel his powers for good.

Becoming Mhorgoth the Faceless

It was discovered, however, he had secretly been practicing necromancy to attempt to bring back those he had lost. Mhorgoth was sentenced to death. Mhorgoth fled south and the Elves hunted him down, once captured the elves cast a spell called the "Eternal Flames" upon him, burning the flesh from his bones.

Mhorgoth survived, prompting him to unleash a spell that killed everything within a mile of him. With his face melted off and his flesh burnt beyond all recognition, Mhorgoth stumbled away in agony. He retreated from the world for many years, during which time his bitterness and madness slowly consumed him.

Reemergence

After two hundred years of self-imposed exile, his life unnaturally prolonged through dark arts, Mhorgoth at last emerged at the head of the largest Undead legion the world has ever seen. He led a massive undead horde against Mantica in his quest to seize the Glade of Ways held by the Twilight Kindred.

Coming from east of Tragar, he invaded through the Free Dwarf Lands, slaying Thorrick Rockfist at the Battle of Ironhold Bridge before trying to cut through the Golden Horn of Basilea. He was driven back here, but is said to be plotting a return invasion. Mhorgoth's focus turned towards the Elves.

Revenge against the Elves

Mhorgoth’s mighty army of skeleton warriors marched south, eating the lands of the Southern Kindreds, heading unerringly to the ruined city of Borath Lei. In ages gone, the city was cast down and currently its shattered walls stand in the wastes. Under the soft grasses before its ruined gates lie the bones of ten thousand Elven warriors. Mhorgoth raised these dead, creating a horde intended to destroy all Southern Elven Kindreds.

Corpse-ghouls poured from sand-choked catacombs including the dread vampire Lord Malak of Dol Eragos upon his Hellsteed, allied with Mhorgoth born out of some unspeakable pact.

The Elves moved to combat Mhorgoth army. Malatheer, Castellan of Aloss, had ridden to the Twilight Glades in the north to beg aid of the Mage-Queen while his twin sister Malatheen marched with this forces toward Borath Lei.

Tydarion Dragonlord, the greatest of all Dragonlords of the Dragon Kindred, rode the wind to the south, while the High Marshall treads the Dark Path through the spirit world, hoping to reach Borath Lei before Mhorgoth can perform his sorcery.
