About

The only record of Cormac is a quote noted in the novel Pride of a King at the start of chapter 33.
"They say a bear will gnaw its own limb off in order to escape a trap, and while that is true, more often than note, they'll just take the damn thing with them until the wound festers and rots and the creature dies from the infection. That can take weeks, though, and during that time, you have a bear that is scared, in pain, and possibly out of its mind with sickness and disease, depending on what stages the infection is in when it's found. A farmer or rancher might put out some of thsese kinds of traps hoping to ward off bear attacks and scare them away, but in reality, all they do is creat a situation that's even more dangerous and usually ends up with a bear stumbling into the farmer's lifestock and causing even more damage. Or worse, Earth Mother forbid, the bear finds itself in the path of some unknowning travelers with much the same bloody result as with other animals."
