Biography

Early life

Grogger Split-Tooth began life as a gobling in the woods of the Mammoth Steppe. Grogger still holds vague memories of crawling from the spawning pool which was based deep underground and quickly creeping through the dark to find is way to the surface.

While trying to survive in the woods, Grogger banded together with other goblings to survive, just trying to make it to the next moon, night after night. Eventually his group would grow to hundreds and would work their way through underground caverns and tunnels. Most goblings wanted to hold back from leading the group however Grogger enjoyed it.

Grogger's swarm would lose a couple of members due to a rogue mawbeasts or just getting seperated from the group. The swarm hid in a nearby woodland and foraging for whatever they could find. Grogger remained the biggest of the group so the rest of the goblings followed his direction. As Grogger matured, language began to form inside his head and Grogger started to command the goblings to find food and build shelter.

Overtime, other goblings grew bigger and Grogger lost his power over the swarm and started to evolve to use more cunning, stealth and smarts to win. Many of his enemies would be tricked into eating poisoned food or killed while sleeping. As Grogger reached full maturity, he along with the rest of his group was drawn back to the clammy cave he spawned from and by this point his kin had been decreased by a few dozen. Moving as a group, they returned to the cave of origin and Grogger was stunned by the hundreds, maybe thousands, of greenskins carrying out the varies tasks.

Grogger's group were wrapped in fur and large leaves however the goblins of the cave were wearing armor and gear they had stolen from raids. Eventually, a biggit spotted the group and took them to the tribe's leader, Bung, leader of the Red Claw Tribe.

Ascent of the Goblin King

main article: Ascent of the Goblin King

In 3850, Grogger was assigned to scout the human village of Terwhane with Kulp by the leader of his clan, Bung. He and Kulp sat on the edge of Whane's Weald.Kulp berated Grogger after he shot an arrow at a stag that charged into the fields of Terwhane, nearly exposing them but the mawbeasts that Kulp tied up got loose and ran out to the stag, exposing them even more.

Grogger then tricked Klup to go and restrain the mawbeasts, which he successfully achieved however Grogger had hoped that the mawbeasts would turn on Klup and shot an arrow into Klup's neck. The mawbeasts dived on Klup and ripped him to bit, dying as a result.

Traveling back to the cave where is clan was located, he came up with a cover story to explain Kulp's death. After having some trouble with the guard, he eventually made his way to his clan leader, Bung who was protected by two cave trolls, Og and Ug. Grogger advised of the status of the human village of Terwhane and the story of how Kulp died. Bung decleared they would attack the village in two days and Grogger was assigned to command a regiment despite him only being a scout.

Raid on Terwhane

main article: Raid on Terwhane

Two days later, the goblin army entered Whane's Weald and arrived at the edge of the forest facing Terwhane. Grogger was trying to think of ways to escape however Ug was assigned to keep him in check and moving forward. He had assumed he still had not been spotted previously by the activity in the village. Bung sent a messager to order Grogger to led the charge on the right flank. Grogger attempted to refuse but the threat of Ug resulted in Grogger to charge at Terwhane.

Grogger's less than enthusiastic charge still caused his flank to charge forward, with his charge being more of a jog down the hill. He watched as the left flank started to fall apart due to the human defences. Seeing the right flank goblin leader getting killed, Grogger comes up with an alternate plan and called on Goblins to listen to him. After a bit of push back, Grogger sends Gritter Fingernipper, the leader of the fleabag riders, around the back of Terwhane in hope to flank them while Ug and the trolls charge foward with the rest of the goblins behind them.

This worked and the humans were taken by surprise, thier defence began to crumble. Grogger spotted the human leader, Brynn, and decided to take him on for the glory of killing him. After using a few other goblins as a meatshield, Grogger managed to kill Brynn and the battle was won by the goblins. Walking through the ruins of Terwhane, watching goblins gathering up the loot from the town, Grogger's name was being cheered by many goblins however they believed Gritter Fingernipper was Grogger. Frustratedly, Grogger was then summoned to Bung who was in Brynn's Hut in the centre of town.

Finding the Wiz

Once there he was ordered to go and capture a wiz, Kackle Flashzap, which had been captured by some Salamanders . Despite Grogger's concerns of a wiz's magic, Grogger agreed and began his journwy with Gritter, Klunk Blackclaw and Ug also ordered to go with him. After picking up the salamanders trail and locating their campsite, Grogger told Klunk, Gritter and Ug to stay back as he approached.

While watching the camp, there was a nearby explosion (which was later discovered to be Klunk using Ug's dung for a bomb) which caused the Salamanders to run to investigate with only Berusk left to guard Kackle. After a short while, Berusk fell asleep and Grogger quietly approached Kackle and freed him. Berusk awoke due to the not-so-quiet escape attempt and attempted to stop them. Kackle used his magic quickly with Grogger's encouragement and managed to knock Berusk out allowing Kackle and Grogger to flee,

Once Grogger and Kackle joined back up with Klunk, Ug and Gritter, Kackle pointed them in the direction of a cave which he had been using as a makeshift home after being exiled from the Furbiters.

Future Visions

After arriving at the cave, Kackle told them the story of how he got exiled and attempted to convince Grogger and the others of being in control of his magic. Grogger wanted proof and Kackle Flashzap agreed to tell Grogger his future to prove how advanced his magic as wiz has become. The results showed Grogger is meant to become a king, much to the disbelief of Kackle and suggested Grogger to see for himself with a potion. After threatening to come back and haunt the unfortunate wiz if the potion proved fatal, Grogger took the strange concoction and was rewarded with strange visions.

He saw a number of events that were to come to pass, such as a mighty goblin army, forest in flames, dwarfs fighting dwarfs and a glittering City of Bronze but most importantly he saw himself as a king, with hordes of his fellows goblins kneeling in subservience. Wanting these visions to come true, Grogger asked Krackle how to make this happen. Krackle suggested seeking out the legendary Magwa Howlclaw and the prod he stole from a Elf Drakon Herder. Grogger managed to convince Gritter, Ug and Klunk to find Magwa but hid his true intentions on why.

Meeting Magwa Howlclaw

Arriving at the old Dwarf Fort that Magwa lived in, the group ventured in however after sometime Gritter, Ug, Klunk and Krackle held back leaving only Grogger to look for Magwa. Eventually, Grogger came upon Magwa and his pet Jo'os. Explaining why he was there and advising about his visions of being King, Magwa was not convinced to join him however allowed him and the group to rest there until nightfall to rest.

Grogger was unable to sleep due to Ug's snoring which was fortunate as he was able to spot four salamanders (Furna, Shalesh, Hr'zak and Berusk) creeping up on them. Alarmed, Grogger awoke the others and quickly took on the Salamanders and the fight began. Ug managed to take on two of them, Berusk and Hr'zak, and the Goblins took on Shalesh and Furna (however Gritter and Klunk quickly ended up under the table they were sleeping on and Krackle tired due to using magic). The battle woke Magwa and Jo'os resulting in Jo'os killing Hr'zak.

The rest of the salamanders arrived quickly after and Grogger's group along with Magwa and Jo'os retreated and escaped down a sewer, with Klunk leaving an explosive behind to cover their escape.

Meeting the Underminers

After days of walking through the sewer for a day or two, they came to it's exit in Death's Hand Pass. During the journey out, Magwa Howlclaw told Grogger of where he can find more goblins to serve him, a tribe called the Underminers, and continued to influence Gritter, Ug and Klunk towards his ulimate goal of his visions.

While heading towards the location of the Underminers, with Magwa's directions, Grogger's group came upon a pale-looking goblin who told them "Grukhar sends her regards" and blew a frostfang horn which slowly brought undead dwarf and goblin zombies to life which attacked the group. Grogger's group fought hard to fend off the attack however eventually Captain Furna and her salamander crew caught up with them, taking the oppotunity to attempt to recapture Krackle and have some revenge on the goblin group

War against the Abyss

A short while later, Grogger got a number of his most loyal followers to sample the Kackle Flashzap's future potion, and now fully convinced they leader would become king, also drank the vile concoction. This in turn imbued them with some of their master’s new power. The rabble horde they formed, known as Grogger’s Goons carried the cauldron that had once contained the mixture, like a holy relic, fighting with quite un-goblin like commitment.

Grogger and his growing army were active during the war against the Abyss, where the would be king came close to conquering the Forest of Galahir. In a war reminiscing of the brurning forests of his vision, Grogger cut a bloody swath across the firest and intially found success in this invasion.

Post-War against the Abyss

However in 2854, after the Expansion of the Abyss, the forces of the Green Lady flooded the opening to the abyss and forced the forces of the abyss back. The Druids, who had gone east to fight the abyss, arrived back after the flooding of the Abyss and pushed Grogger out of the Forest of Galahir, vowing to be back with a stronger army along with the mechanical monster being constructed for him
