In 3850, Berusk was part of Captain Furna's crew (which included Rorsha, Shalesh, Tulsk, Krat’lk, Ralz, Igne, Hr'zak and Igne) who were on the hunt for one of the rumored treasure troves of Captin Greenclaw.
On their way to the location, a freak storm which wrecked their ship, stranding Berusk and the rest of Captain Furna's crew on the shores of the Ardovikian Plains. Needing gold for a new ship, the crew worked as mercenaries for human lords however they were reluctant to sell a ship to the Salamander crew for a reasonable price.
Captain Furna was eventually approached by a hedge witch that advised their home was being invaded by an invisible creature and offered Dragon's Scale, which is a warming herb which can help keep a Salamanders blood warm when made into a brew. This invisible creature turned out to be the Wiz, Kackle Flashzap, who the crew captured and intended to sell in Valentica, hoping to earn enough gold for a ship back to The Three Kings

After being drawn away from an explosion caused by Klunk Blackclaw (who used Ug's dung to create an huge explosion), Grogger Split-Tooth managed to free Kackle Flashzap from the crew's camp and escaped, Rorsha and the crew gave chase through the forest. Using their flaming swords to light the way, they began hacking at branches and other fauna that was in their way.
This aggression awakened nearby Gladewalkers who began to attack the crew as they were giving chase. After giving the order to run by Captain Furna, the crew attempted to escape out of of the woods however Tulsk, Krat’lk and Ralz were killed. Hr'zak managed to pick up the escaping goblins tracks and realised they were were mounted on large dogs along with a troll. Captain Furna's crew, which included Berusk, quickly began to follow the trail.
Chasing The Goblins
H'rzak tracked Kackle Flashzap (along with Grogger Split-Tooth, Ug, Klunk Blackclaw and Gritter Fingernipper) to his cave which Kackle had been using as his home. The goblins had since moved on to somewhere else and the crew searched for clues on their whereabouts. The crew found odd magical artifacts within the cave, including a Moloch's skull, and Igne happened to find a dwarf map with the words "MAGWA" written on it which seemingly led to a old dwarf garrison.
Arriving at the garrison, Furna took H'rzak , Berusk and Shalesh into the abandoned hold hoping to capture the goblins sleeping with Rorsha and the rest of the crew remaining outside. A short while later, after hearing the conflict inside Rorsha, Igne and the rest of the crew arrived as backup however they were too late to save H'rzak and it forced Grogger , Ug, Klunk, Kackle , Jo'os, Magwa and Gritter to escape via the 'water closet' (aka the toliet) which was in Magwa sleeping quarters .
While the crew worked out a plan to enter the 'water closet, Igne found a map of the dwarf hold which showed the closet connecting into a underground sewer. Suddenly it dawned on Furna that the goblins were planning on escaping down and ordered to stop them before it was took late. Berusk burst into the room and the salamanders discover that the goblins were gone. Before they had a chance to follow them down, they discover a bomb that Klunk had left behind, which was about to go off.
Furna gave the order to run however the bomb went off, with bits of the fort collapsing on top of them. Shalesh survived however some of the crew did not.
Death's Hand Pass
After recovering from the impact of the explosion, Furna was about to give up captainship to Rorsha until Berusk intervened. After rallying, Igne advises that the sewers lead to Death's Hand Pass and the crew begin their long walk there.
After two days of marching they arrived at Death Hand Pass and began to hear explosions in the distance, Furna assumed it was the goblins. The crew quickened their pace despite Igne's sense of old magic. Coming upon the goblins, they were attacked by undead goblins, dwarfs and even a undead slasher. The undead slasher attacked the crew, with the trickery of Grogger Split-Tooth, and targeted Shalesh along with other members of the crew. Furna managed to distract the undead slasher, jump on its back and pierced her cutlass into its skull. Furna was thrown to the floor and knocked her out with the undead slasher corpse falling upon her.
While Furna was knocked out, the rest of the crew including Berusk fought their way through hundreds of undead in order to escape and ended up recovering at a local human farmstead, home of Rowan Bossesus and Mary Bossesus. Rorsha was unable to find the goblins trail. Three days later, Furna finally awoke and spoke to Rowan and Mary. Thanking them for helping her crew and offered their service with anything they needed, Rowan suggested a plan to take out the local goblins that had been terrorising their farm along with other locals. Furna hesitantly agreed.
Into the Underminer's Tunnels
Rowan gathered together a small militia from around the farmsteads, including Nian, Osian,Brenwin, Aeron and Elis, and along with Shalesh and the crew they headed into the goblin tunnels. Igne was able to sense the magical escence of Magwa's prod, which guided them into the right direction through the tunnels. After walking deeper through the tunnels, the group came upon a pale-looking goblin looking panicked and scared.
Before Rowan could grab it, the goblin turned and ran down another tunnel, suddenly a wave of more pale-skinned panicked goblins who attacked the group with crude spears and weapons. Brenwin was seriously wounded and after Brenwin's father Osian was scowled by Rowan, Osian along with Elis took Brenwin out of the caves to get treatment.
The group continued and came upon a large abandoned chamber. Noticing it was recent abandoned, the group searched the room. Aeron found a silver tray that goblins stole from him last year, recognising the crest of Primovantor. Upon further investigation, the group discovered a treasure trove of items which were worth enough for Furna's crew to buy a boat and the farmers to afford additional defences for the future.
Furna did not want to give up the chase however, which caused Rorsha to finally revolt against Furna's captainship. Threatening to kill the humans and Furna, Rorsha challenged Furna for the captain which ulimately resulted in Furna beating Rorsha in combat. Rorsha admitted defeat, mentioning how tired he was from the current events. Rorsha agreed to let the humans leave and take the remainder of the crew, including Shalesh, back to The Three Kings. Furna, Igne, Rowan and Berusk would continue the pursuit of Grogger and the goblins
Finding Grogger-Split Tooth
After sometime, Igne and the group come upon the underground river and spot the wreckage of the third barge. They begin to follow the river down and come across some Ratkin which they quickly dispose of. Eventually they came upon the exit of the underground river and into the open, stumbling upon the Underminer's makeshift fortress they were constructing. Igne sensed the Magwa's prod wasn't there and continued towards it without any of the Underminers spotting them.
Coming upon the Bodjits, Igne summoned a Fire Elemental in a attempt to break through the gate and the group begun to approach the Bodjit village with the exception of Igne who stayed behind to keep focus on the summon. Kackle Flashzap summoned his own elemental, a Water Elemental, to counter the fire elemental and Grogger and Jo'os took on Furna as Magwa took on Rowa and Ug took on Berusk.
Death
During the fight, Berusk was getting the upper hand on Ug and Grogger sent Jo'os to help him out. Berusk managed to hold Ug and now Jo'os back but as the killing blow was about to be struck on Jo'os, Ug managed to grab Berusk and snapped his neck, killing him
