The Salamanders Armada is the Salamander's navy force in Pannithor
About
If the imposing forms of their ships weren’t enough to deter most challengers at sea, the belching smoke from their batteries, and the dancing flames at their prows are sights to strike fear into the hearts of sailors everywhere. For the Salamanders are masters of firecraft, which they use to their advantage. The arkosaurs command fire elementals to do their bidding, while their own vessels are protected from flame by armour of drake-pelts and dragonscales.
History
Ancient Times
When the elves first bartered passage beyond Ophidia and into the strange lands of the East, they happened upon an established empire of reptilian and amphibious races, who already possessed warships and vast seafaring knowledge, and were happy to give the trespassers to their realm their first true taste of naval battle
Modern Day
Today, the Salamanders possess a small but elite navy, with large, powerful ships. Their crews, often commanded by mysterious arkosaurs, are well-drilled – indeed, through some form of racial memory, many salamanders are spawned with knowledge of sailing and naval strategy in their fiery blood. The strange appearance of their battle ships has remained largely unchanged for millennia, and were themselves developed in response to their enemies in the East, foremost amongst them the ancient Xirkaali Empire.
Though their navy is small, the Salamanders have become the self-proclaimed guardians of the Three Kings, and take it upon themselves to police the surrounding Infant Sea. The slaving ships of the Twilight Kin and the bone-fleets of the Ahmunites have felt the particular fiery wrath of the Salamanders on many occasions, while all pirates know to flee when they see the distinctive fanned sails of Salamander vessels on the horizon.
Relationships
Of late, the Salamanders have traded with the Imperial Dwarfs, and now incorporate heavy cannons into their gundecks. But it is only a matter of time before the naval ambitions of the dwarfs and the Salamanders’ inflexible protectionism bring the two races into conflict
