“There’s some who would call us pirates, yet I call us ‘privateers.’ The difference? Pirates are out for gold. We’re out for vengeance." - Jalgin Saltbeard
Jalgin ‘Saltbeard’Thistledew is the commander of Orcsbane and a member of the Thistledew Clan, one of the only clans to remain neutral during the The Great Civil War.
Biography
Jalgin was apprenticed aboard the GrimmStone, Oath Forger, rising quickly through the ranks before taking command of his own RuneAxe-class ship, the Orcsbane.
History
Jalgin was assigned with Orcs' Bane to defend the Chainway from the predations of Orc flotillas. They were ill-prepared, however, when the Abyssal Dwarfs sailed upon them, their numbers overwhemling them. Jalgin could do little as the chainway was broken and his people slaughtered.
Now known as Jalgin Saltbeard, he operates as a privateer, holding letters of marque from the Golden Horn, the Free Dwarfs of Estacarr, and even the Imperial Dwarfs of Dolgarth. His crew of hardened and embittered veterans and berserkers live for the thrill of battle and plunder, but hold a special hatred for the foul denizens of Tragar, Abyssal Dwarfs
Trivia
- Despite being noted in lore as being indepedent as a privateer after the Chainway loss, Orcs' Bane is included in the Dwarfs Armada ship roster as a selectable unit.
