The Twenty-Seven Boons of the Gods, are artifacts of the Wicked Ones seized by the dwarfs during the Winter War.
The Theft
The Boons were stolen by Gilgulli Heavyhand, he was caught, but not before he had seized these artifacts. These magic relics vanished from his grasp, set free to corrupt those who would find them in the world.
The Heavyhand Clan was thus dishonored. Garrek was born with this shame, as all in his clan are.

Garrek Heavyhand has also sought out the missing artifacts, wielding two in battle himself: the Warp Hammer, Elesea's Comb, Shield of Miph and the Cloak of Miph. He has recovered 18 others, but still 9 remain missing.

Taking to the Infant Sea upon its maiden voyage from Dolgarth, the Dwarf Hunter Avalanche encountered a privateer frigate, the Earnest Fate, east of the Forsaken Isles. A prize ship, laden with gold and crewed by mercenaries, it was later claimed that the Fate had departed the Ophidian port of Hokh-oul with a bounty legally purchased, and was bound for the free city of Rimenese (though the men of Rimenese, denied all knowledge, lest they incur the wrath of Golloch).
Upon being sighted by the Avalanche, the Fate lowered its colours and heaved to, then pitched full sail on a course towards the Drowned Republic. Seeing this as highly suspicious, and eager to test their new steamship, the dwarfs gave chase, pushing their engines to the limit, and eventually catching their quarry near the Ruins of Vantoria. After a brief exchange of fire, in which the Hunter easily outclassed the larger frigate, the Earnest Fate struck her colours and was boarded by the dwarfs. In the hold, within a thrice-warded chest thrumming with power, the dwarfs found an artefact of great import – one of the Boons of the Gods, thought lost more than 500 years before.
When news of this discovery reached King Golloch, secret orders were immediately given to the Warsmiths in charge of his finest ships.
