Abbetshire was founded in 2180 and was the first of the shires to be established. Named after the founder Bron Abbet.
Bron Abbet, the leader of one of the biggest Halfling clans at the time, gathered on the Ardovikian Plain in the lands to the north and west of the recently founded League of Rhordia. Abbet stated his intent to found a permanent settlement and invited the others to join him after generations of living a nomadic lifestyle.
The population of Abbetshire grew rapidly over the next dozen years as word began to spread to other Halfling clans.
