The Brig-class is a type of ship in the Kingdoms of Men. It is one of the Support ships in the fleet.
About
A two-masted square-rigged vessel, with between 10 and 18 cannons, frequently used in combat actions by various navies. For the various factions that make up the Kingdoms of Men, the term 'brig' refers to a ship's rigging, rather than the Basilean convention of a ship title referring to its role.
Brigs are a common vessel across the Kingdoms of Men, and can vary in size and tonnage between small, sub-100 tonne vessels up to over 1,000 tonne brigs that rival the size of some ship-rigged, three mast vessels. Whilst few nations in Pannithor agree on a standardised 'rating' system to categorise the number of guns or size of their various ships, across the Kingdoms of Men brigs are largely considered to be 'unrated', with less than 20 cannons.
Brigs are used across a plethora of duties, both civilian and naval. For Kingdoms of Men fleets they are often used in shallow water operations due to their smaller size and shallow draught, or for duties where a larger, more expensive ship might not be available. In larger battles they relay orders and messages in a similar fashion to the Instigator-class and Frigate-class, or move to engage the smaller ships of enemy fleets.
