Biography
Early Years
Dunstan worked as a rat-catcher (normal rats) during his pre-military days, eventually rising in ranks to be a respected commander within The Shires military ranks. One of the early conflicts Dunstan was involved in was an Ratkin attack where Dunstan was an ordinary archer, still learning the trade of archery.
3850

In 3850, Dunstan was living in Meadowbrook within the boarders of Rhordia. Dunstan was tasked by Sir Hedrick to help elimate an infestation of Ratkin in Norwood (referred to as Ratkin invasion of Berlonviche). Dunstan agreed due to the risk that Ratkin pose if they were to establish a force within the League of Rhordia.
12 Days Later, Dunstan had managed to muster 1000 Troops and marched to Norwood, with another 500 on the way. As they arrived at Norwood, Dunstan spoke to Paddy Bobart, an elderly Halfling engineer, who revealed he had brought barrels of gunpowder which Paddy put an enchantment on to avoid any accidents. Paddy told Dunstan that he had a plan but will let Dunstan know when he was certain it would work. As they continued to approach Norwood, Sir Hedrick arrived to welcome them and advised that they were setting up camp for the force outside the walls with food and drink being prepared, Sir Hendrik told Dunstan that Duke Albustus Alberson would like to speak to him as soon as they were settled.
Sir Hedrick escorted Dunstan and Paddy Bobart to the keep of Duke Albustus Alberson a few hours later after they arrived. They were brought to a chamber overlooking the great hall where the Duke meeting with his commanders and counselors including Kelson and Prelate Lesnak. The Duke thanked Dunstan for coming and Dunstan introduced Paddy who the Duke had already heard of. Dunstan asked about Paddy's plan however Paddy needed the sewer blueprints before discussing it which the Duke ordered Kelson to get the master archivist, Master Paley. While they waited, they discussed the situation within the city and the Ratkin attacks that had been occurring. Eventually Master Paley arrived with the sewer blueprints and Paddy begun to study them intensely. Paddy advised they need to work where the Ratkin got into the sewers in the first place and took the blueprints to study back at camp. The Duke ended the meeting and escorted Paddy and Dunstan back to their camp to settle in for the night.
As the night passed, Paddy Bobart stayed up studying the blueprints and the next morning Dunstan and Paddy went to meet with Duke Albustus Alberson. When they arrived back at the same chamber from yesterday where the Duke, Lord Barton and Sir Giles were waiting for them. Paddy unrolled a map of the city and noted 6 points (4 near the city walls and 2 near the river) where Paddy needed a sample of bedrock from. Paddy explained they were needed to work his magic and Dunstan offered his people to get the 2 near the river with Sir Giles and his men getting the other 4. The Duke agreed and ordered them to move at noon tomorrow.
Dunstan led his company into the city and towards the rivner with Lurry Bevrige leading the 2nd company. As Dunstan and his troops arrived at the entrance of the sewers, he ordered Toma to hold back and wait for Barri Lubbin to show up and take over guard. Dunstan and his company moved into the sewers and quickly found a hidden hatch which revealed ratkin hole. Dunstan began to trek through the newly discovered hole with his troops following behind.
3866
By 3866, Dunstan was promoted to the Muster-master for The Shires and was in command of its forces during The Broken Alliance of the League of Rhordia events.
Battle of South Hodenburg

The League of Rhordia gathered their forces in Eowolf and surrounded the Tanmill Canel Guardburg, Eowolf Road Guardburg and the Brigward Guardburg in Southshire. The Shire's forces, led by Muster-master Dunstan Rootwell gathered the forces of the shire and marched towards the Tanmill Canel Guardburg break the Rhordian attack.
At the time, Aeron Cadwallader attempted to Dunstan and the rest of the leadership of the potential trap it might lead them into, as the force that currently surrounds the Guardburgs were no match for them however the Rhordian's are attempting to draw the shire's forces into an open field. Setting a trap for the larger league forces to ambush them. His alternative plan was rejected and the shire's forces continued on towards Eowolf Road Guardburg
Aeron turned out correct and despite some clever tactical decisions by him, the forces of The shire were defeated with many Halflings either killed or captured including Aeron Cadwallader (who escaped shortly after). They were pushed back to Hodenburg
Siege of Hodenburg

The League of Rhordia's force had stopped short of approaching Hodenburg to the confusion of many. Shortly after Aeron arrived back at Hodenburg, he met with Dunstan
Aeron advised Dunstan that the League was letting them reinforce Hodenburg to draw in the rest of The Shires forces leaving them defenceless. Suggesting that once they have locked in their siege of Hodenburg they would be free to subjugate the rest of the Shires.
Dunstan managed to convince the Shires Assembly of the plan to only keep 7000 troops inside Hodenburg and the rest to fall back to Picksbury. To ensure that the Rhordian's don't get wind of their plan, reinforcements would continue to arrive in Hodenburg so the Rhordian's would see them only to then leave in the dead of night.
As the Leagues forces began to approach, Dunstan insisted to stay behind to command the defence of Hodenburg with Aeron assigned to escort the Shires Assembly members and their families out of the city to Picksbury.
The League of Rhordia began the siege shortly after and would continue until the Battle of Hodenburg
3868

By 3868, Dunstan was no longer Muster-master, with Aeron Cadwallader taking over that role.
