Hellfane-class is one of the Main Ships in the Abyssal Dwarfs Armada and common in the fleet.
About
The Abyssal Dwarfs’ answer to the Dreadnoughts of their Imperial cousins, Hellfanes are a floating blasphemy against the Shining Ones – vessels powered by anguished souls and designed to strike terror into the hearts of the enemy. Grotesque in appearance, covered in spikes and leering faces that shift and change like living metal, they are the pinnacle of Abyssal Dwarf sea power.
Their vast engine-rooms are a veritable furnace, screaming with the agony of tortured souls that power the vessels and lend them malign power. Hundreds of slaves are worked to death in these sweltering workshops, knowing that once their usefulness is spent, they, too, shall join the agonised spirits in the Abyssal fires of the great engines. Indeed, Hellfanes could remain at sea almost indefinitely were it not for the need to replenish their workforce.
An Iron Captain placed in command of such a vessel is powerful indeed – sorcerer, general and admiral all rolled into one, they run their ship like their Iron-Caster counterparts run a temple- bastion. In battle, their prized Immortal Guard man battlements and boarding claws, while semi-sentient hellforged cannons bombard the foe with heavy shot and sorcerous fireballs.
