The Abyssal Dwarfs are Pannathors great slavers, enslaving mainly Orcs, Elves, Men and Dwarfs. Bharzak the Grim the Abyssal Dwarf created through torture, experimentation and hybridisation the Ratkin Race.
About
Bred for oppression the Ratkin were cruelly exploited, who then revolted (The Great Revolt) and tore into their creator Bharzak the Grim along with many Abyssal Dwarfs, those that managed to escape became the Ratkin, those that were caught remained the Ratkin Slaves of the Abyssal Dwarfs.
Bharzak and there are many secrets he keeps to himself.
Following his near-death at the hands of one of his brutes, he rebuilt his disfigured body with parts from both Ratkin and Grotesque, and he is now such a monstrosity to behold, even the most hardened and debauched Abyssal Dwarfs have to avert their gaze.
The breeding program continues and is still headed by Bharzak. While most Abyssal Dwarves content themselves with breaking Orcs to their will, the Ratkin Slaves are a dedicated set of Abyssal Dwarves that pride themselves on the experimentation, mutation and creation of the Ratkin race.
Unfortunately a few of their experimentation's escaped and formed there own race and faction, the ones within this faction are broken under the whips of the slavemasters. Ratkin are often skittish, fearful creatures. Bharzak carfully bred subservience and cowardice into his creations.
Only the biggest and strongest in the pack possess the willpower to break this innate fear, and weak, lone Ratkin are next to useless unless driven into a frenzy. In a pack, however, they draw strength from each other. Nothing is stronger than the pack. The Abyssal Dwarfs treat the enslaved Ratkin with utter disdain and use a volatile device known as the Last Breath, or the Aht-Skro to Gnorr themselves.
This cruel contraption consumes the flesh and soul of the being who carries it to create a potent explosion. At the edge of insanity by the treatment of their masters, the Ratkin Slaves volunteer to carry these devices in the hope of a final release from their torment. Unknown to them their souls are cast into the Abyss to be tortured for eternity.
The Archfiends of the Sixth Circle relayed the Wicked Ones instructions to the abyssal dwarfs who who were barely touched the flooding by the Green Lady and the Mythicans. The Abyssal Dwarfs have turned their eyes on the new Northern Alliance and the disturbing flicker of an ancient power that grows there. Those that excel at fighting in caves and ice caverns will spearhead the vanguard and spread like a plague through the tunnels from below. The rats.
