[[Orion]] and [[Tancred]] were sent ahead of the main force to mining town of [[Torgias]]. Once at the Torgias gates, they asked the guards to get their commander, who happened to be Vendis. 

Tancred introduced himself and requested assistance to guide them north through the [[Mountains of Tarkis]]. Vendis refused, noting that he did not have the authority to take any of their guards however suggested to seek out the mercenary [[Aestelle]] at the [[Trade Wind Inn]] near the centre of town.
