The Holdfast was founded by Paddy Bobart. He had established his centre for science and engineering in a secret place called the Holdfast north of Tanmill in Tanshire and was assembling a new army, much better equipped than the other halfling forces. This location remains secret and is kept off most maps of The Shires
The Holdfast is The Shires equivant to the College of Warcraft in Eowolf
After Paddy's death in 3866 during the war with the League of Rhordia, The Holdfast leadership was left to Dilwyn Brynmoor in Paddy's will.
