The elves were the first to divine the true nature of the Nexus, it was part of the very same force that had led to the formation of the Shadow Paths.
But while the Ways allowed travel between portals linked by ancient ley lines, they were still grounded in the material plane.
The nexus was something greater and far more terrible. This power was a true conduit between dimensions.
It enabled travel between all the known planes, and perhaps even time itself. Even the very wise would struggle to understand just how this force came into being, or how indeed it worked.
But should anyone learn how to control it - to become master of the Nexus - they would hold such power as to be unstoppable.
