Jarrun Bombard

From Kings of War Wiki

Jarrun Bombard is a relatively recent addition to the dwarfs’ arsenal, the Jarrun Bombard is still controversial, with some holds refusing to field the weapon out of principle.

About

Created by Free Dwarf warsmith Jarrun Iremonger, this revolutionary weapon has been highly successful when deployed. It can be fired directly into the enemy ranks like a cannon, or indirectly like a mortar, bypassing fortifications to hit vulnerable troops beyond.

While most dwarf lords will reluctantly admit to the weapon’s usefulness, it is its origins from among the Free Dwarfs that causes concern.

The concept that the Free Dwarfs could create something that surpasses the war machines created by Imperial warsmiths is something that no one would openly admit to, but the concern of those within the Imperial army is clear. Nevertheless, as long as the Bombard sees continued success on the battlefield, it will find a place among the armies of the dwarfs.

Kings of War Appearances

Jarrun Bombard first appeared as a playable War Engine unit in the 1.0 - Hellfire and Stone supplement on May 7th, 2014, Sveri appeared in the 2nd Edition era, being included in the 2nd Edition Rulebook and 3rd Edition Rulebook.

Jarrun Bombard is avaiable for both the Dwarfs and Free Dwarfs

1st Edition

Cwl Gen’s chief warsmith, the brilliantly inventive Jarrun Iremonger, has worked for several centuries to develop the perfect siege artillery engine. His solution is the Bombard, a revolutionary weapon designed to be capable of either firing directly at the enemy like a cannon or in high trajectories in a similar way to a mortar. This makes it an incredibly versatile war engine on both the battlefield and during sieges. However, it is still in the experimental phase, so is less reliable than other Dwarf war engines, even when there is a Warsmith nearby.

2nd Edition

Created by Jarrun Iremonger of Cwl Gen, this revolutionary weapon has become highly prized by Dwarf commanders. The Jarrun Bombard can be fired directly into enemy ranks like a heavy cannon, or indirectly like a mortar, bypassing fortifications to hit vulnerable troops beyond

3rd Edition
