Biography

Falvalyr was a candidate to become the next commander of the Therennian Sea Guard.

Kraken Hunt

When a kraken of prodigious size was sighted off the Lihrian Coast, Falvalyr swore to hunt it down. For three days and nights he tracked the karken, twice engaging it and driving it away, but both times failing to land the fatal strike.

Before long, he had pursued the creature beyond the elven domain, and into a stretch of the Endless Sea where most elves feared to sail. Soon, the wounded kraken came again and Falvalyr’s ship was badly damaged, but its bolt-throwers fired, blinding the monster.

Taking full advantage, he came about and delivered the killing blow, and the creature’s reign of terror was over.

Death

Warriors of Medu’Syth, come to bring vengeance upon the elves who had slain the kraken. The elves sailed as fast as they could, pursued every measure of the way by the Nereticans. At the Bay of Adar, the Sea Guard mustered to fight off the attackers. Naiads rode in armoured conch-howdahs upon the backs of vast serpents; tentacles erupted from the depths to turn elf ships to kindling. The elves could not have anticipated the numbers of the Medu’Syth, nor the ferocity of the attack, and it was only the skill of their captains that held the bulk of the creatures at bay.

As ships sank in the bay, an army of Riverguard, Placoderms and Thuul marched upon the Adar itself. Breaches were made in the walls, watchtowers fell, and fires raged through the outer defences. Dismayed by the destruction he had brought upon his beloved city, Falvalyr realised what must be done. He called out to the lead Thuul and offered himself as sacrifice, on condition of peace between their peoples.

A bargain was struck. Falvalyr accompanied the Nereticans back to the Bay of Adar, and boarded a Naiad howdah. The forces of Medu’Syth shrank away, vanishing as quickly as they had appeared, leaving the fleet of Adaren to lick its wounds.

Falvalyr was never seen again
