The expedition force hunting for Abyssals, led by Hugh, needed information on Captain Dionne location. Orion and Tancred were sent ahead of the main force to mining town of Torgias. Once at the Torgias gates, they asked the guards to get their commander, who happened to be Vendis. Tancred introduced himself and requested assistance to guide them north through the Mountains of Tarkis. Vendis refused, noting that he did not have the authority to take any of their guards however suggested to seek out the mercenary Aestelle at the Trade Wind Inn near the centre of town.
