Trident Kings are a race of beings which rule over the Trident Realm of Neritica

There are only three Trident Kings at any one time.

Medu'Syth, primarily home to Placoderm and Riverguard Neriticans, with its own Trident King Sythos
Myrrhimm, primarily home to Thuul Neriticans, with its own Trident King Myrroq
Ilythish, primarily home to Naiad Neriticans, ruled by the Trident King Ilyth'ul

The Trident Kings are rarely been encountered, and most land-folk would not recognise it even if they saw one, as they operating through envoys and representatives.

These massive Neriticans are the Trident Kings, and to the best of anyone’s knowledge there are only three in existence at any one time, each a ruler of one of the kingdoms of the Trident Realm of Neritica.

No one knows for sure the identity of the Trident Kings, as they always wear one of the three fabled Masks of Medusa, from which they draw godlike power.

Taller than any of the other Neriticans, resplendent in royal armour, riding atop an elaborate chariot pulled by four sea wyrms, the absolute authority and power of these masked individuals is plain to see to.

Commanding their forces without word, sending warriors to their deaths with cold and calculated fury.

The Trident Kings enter battle extremely rarely, with years or decades passing between each encounter, although there are unreliable accounts that claim that three such individuals fought in the Battle for the Frozen Sea.

They are widely believed to be immortal, although it is more likely that, as a Trident King dies, the mask is gifted to his replacement, who gains some portion of the knowledge, skill and strength of all the previous wearers.

Of course, who exactly these replacements are, and where they come from, is anyone’s guess.

They certainly do not live amongst the royal families of the naiads, placoderms and thuul.
