Pride of a King
Prideofakinglogo In 3865, Garrek arrived in Caeryn Golloch for quinquennial Clannsvelt with his clan and a recently rediscovered boon. His clan had to camp outside the city due to his reputation within the Dwarf Empire

Garrek visited the Temple of Dianek inside the Religious District and met with Ofn Mabtan who at the time was talking to Banick Kholearm, which he was introduced to for the first time. Garrek had already heard of Banick just as Banick had heard of him. Garrek mentioned that famous people seemed to be drawn to Ofn, even Queen Rhosyn Ashtel who had died 3 years earlier. Banick did not know about her passing and inquired further about Rhosyn. Eventually Banick excused himself and Garrek stayed behind with Ofn to discuss other matters, promising to share a drink with Banick at a later date within the city.

A few days later, Garrek met up with Banick once again, this time at a local taproom within Caeryn Golloch that Banick would frequent at. Garrek had seeked Banick out as he was the first that didn't treat Garrek with dagger stares and grimaces. Banick and Garrek got a drink together then started to share stories of being outcasted and how they are treated because of it. The also discussed the upcoming Clannsvelt, Queen Rhosyn Ashtel and their own religous beliefs (Fulgria Goddess of White Fire and Dianek the God of Earth). Eventually the conversation led to the history of the Heavyhand Clan dishonour and past dwarfs he had lost in battle attempting to obtain the Warp Hammer including Crotheud, Braelwyr, Gedvior, Dramun, Corbut, Nrethod, Aenwyn, Arnot, Vynth, Maerdue, Svet, Oenwi, Brekkus, Thad, Maergan, Brea,Shelthwey and Craenoc. The conversation ended shortly after with Garrek leaving impressed with Banick, hoping to have further discussions in the future.

Later, Garrek met with Banick and Ofn in the Temple of Dianek where Banick told him about his confrontation of Oedi Croenroc who had been spying on him. Garrek discovered him and told him to keep on following him around to keep him close. Garrek commended him on Banick's plan to keep Oedi around to control what he sees instead of sneaking around, Banick did not know why he was being followed in the first place. They attempted to figure out why King Golloch would have Banick followed and how it was be tied into with Queen Rhosyn Ashtel death as Garrek was also friendly with her as she didnt treat him as an outcast. Banick insisted he should get going to avoid more suspicion and they left the Temple of Dinnek independantly from each other.

Garrek would eventually meet back up with Banick and Ofn as they were coming up with a plan to get a record from the Royal Archives. Garrek was returning from his army's base camp outside of Caeryn Golloch, noting a large Imperial Dwarf force moving north towards the Halpi Mountains. This seemingly showed that Banick had achieved his mission of getting support for the Free Dwarfs and Garrek believed that this was a good thing. Banick wasn't so convinced as he had yet been able to meet with King Golloch directly but knew he had only a few months before he had to leave to go back. Banick wanted Garrek's help to get the physician's death report of Queen Rhosyn Ashtel however needed a member of noble house to request it. Garrek and Banick (and Odei who was still following Banick) went to the Royal Archives immediately.

Garrek, Banick and Odei journeyed to the Royal Archives, which from the outside looked small but it extended well below the ground. The trio approached an old archivist inside who was working at a desk, who called for younger archivist, Juolen, to take them and retrieve the documents requested. Garrek and Banick became angry as the documents revealed that Queen Rhosyn Ashtel was killed by what it appears to be by strangulation, not by a illness as what was reported publicly, and questioned how they managed to get away with it and why. They decided to seek out the physican on the document, Dronteum Saelvestuun.

Couple of days later, Garrek met back up with Odei and Banick at the Ffionen Estate then went to where Dronteum Saelvestuun lived, who was now a retired physician. Dronteum invited them into his study and after a brief discussion, it was revealed that Dronteum had taken Silver Thistle which is a highly toxic herb. Dronteum knew he was going to be killed after the secret of Queen Ashtel was revealed and wanted to die his own way. Dronteum mentioned that the Queen's red journal revealed the real killer and suggested they read it to see if they can work out who it is. Dronteum died quickly after suggesting this. Suddenly they heard a crash downstairs and the trio knew, with the dead Dronteum and blood, that it would be a bad look to be caught. Garrek, Banick and Odei jumped out of the window, after Garrek broke it open with the Warp Hammer, and escaped down the street.

After escaping, Garrek was tending to Banick foot after he injured it while escaping at the Ffionen Estate, Odei had run off shortly after they had arrived there. Garrek and Banick caught up with Ithel Ffionen with the recent events and reassured him that they werent followed. Banick left to get cleaned up while Garrek and Ithel waited, when Banick returned he started to go through the red journal that Dronteum Saelvestuun had. The last entry indicated that Golloch was having an affair, indicating that this might have been the cause of the strangulation on Queen Ashtel. Upon further discussion, Banick believed it wasn't an affair, instead being something else considering how much of a shut in that Gollach became after her death with the Ashtel Clan being the actual ones responsible. This led to them believe that Gruumen Ashtel was planning something at the Claansvelt, with the Claansvelt being the first time that Golloch has been seen in public for years. Garrek suggested that Rordin, Golloch's heir, would also need to be killed for Gruumen to take the throne. Garrek suggested he would leave with his troops to Dolgarth, where Rordin was lording over, to inform Rordin of the possible attempt on his life while Banick sneaks into the Claasvelt with Ithel.

It was later revealed that Ofn was working for the Ashtel Clan and had revealed that Garrek was making his way to Rordin, it is unknown if he survived or met up with Rordin

His victories are known to a hundred different peoples and he is named by each according to a hundred different tongues. The peak-dwelling Elves of Alandar name him Sui Minuti – he of a thousand tempers. The coarse horse warriors of the Mammoth Steppe dub him the eastern wind, Ostreoya Wiat in their guttural language.

The deeds Garrek has performed in his quest are truly epic, earning him the honour of ten lifetimes and surely absolving him and every one of his line until the end of all things, of the crime of Gilgulli. But, no matter how many victories he wins, how many doomed allies he delivers and how many innocents he saves, to his own people, Garrek shall always bear the stain of dishonour Though they accept his steel amongst theirs, his arm beside their own, they still glance upon him askance and blanche, upon hearing his name. To a Dwarf, honour is all: and a crime is never, ever forgotten.
